Susan Hansen is a Family Lawyer and Co-founder of the Family Mediation Center at Hansen & Hildebrand, S.C. based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, North America. My goal is to promote a peaceful problem-solving approach to divorce. I help individual clients and couples create mutual agreements and restructure their families without the financial and emotional expense of traditional divorce litigation. Hansen & Hildebrand provides mediation and legal representation on family law matters ranging from complex financial and business issues to parenting/child concerns. Our firm provides client-centered legal services to support creative and respectful resolutions that meet the needs of all family members. I am co-founder of the Family Mediation Center. FMC provides reduced cost mediation services for self-represented parties and training for mediation professionals. Practice areas: Family law including divorce, paternity, same sex cohabitation and separation agreements, pre- and post-nuptial agreements; my personal practice is limited to out-of-court alternatives—consulting, mediation and collaborative practice. Training: I have presented at many professional education programs for lawyers, mental health and financial professionals and public and business groups about complex divorce financial issues and child advocacy as well as collaborative and mediation process options. I have provided training in interdisciplinary mediation and collaborative practice locally, nationally and internationally (most recently in Florence,Italy). Recognition: i have been featured in numerous publications and news reports.
