Shelley Maniscalco, MPH, RDN is a Founder and CEO at Nutrition On Demand based in Arlington, Virginia, United States, North America. I am a nutrition consultant and Founding Partner at Nutrition In Demand. I have 20+ years experience practicing nutrition and dietetics in the DC area. My specialty is in science- and consumer-based communication at the national and individual levels. I became a dietitian years ago to help consumers be healthier and balanced. It is my mission to help populations and individuals make personalized and realistic changes that are intuitive to them and compatible with their lives so that behaviors become sustainable long-term and confer long-lasting health and wellness benefits. In addition to nutrition communications, I have worked extensively in translating and using technology to implement dietary guidance and MyPlate, consumer research, corporate wellness, IOM/Dietary Reference Intakes, as well as coaching and counseling individuals and families. Most recently, I led the nationwide MyPlate campaign to help the public implement the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015-2020 and directed the enhancement of SuperTracker and other USDA interactive nutrition tools. Additionally, I worked on the 2010 DGAs, development of MyPlate, and created and grew the USDA/CNPP Nutrition Communicators Network. I strive to bring much passion, enthusiasm, and thoughtfulness to everything I do. My education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I am a Registered Dietitian.
