Scott Massie is a CEO at Geiger Brothers, Inc. based in Jackson, Ohio, United States, North America. As I approach nearly four decades in the Construction industry with the majority of those being spent focused as a Mechanical Contractor, I have witnessed Geiger Brothers evolve from a single office Ohio-based Plumbing and HVAC specialty subcontractor, into a much broader based contracting and engineering firm. That growth in our business was powered by an amazing group of highly capable people talented professionally in their craft, technical expertise and business savvy. To say it has been thrilling to be a part of a transformation that what was just 2-3 people in early 1991 to becoming a flourishing company with over 400 staff and craft today would be an understatement. While our original core business remains the anchor for our company, it also has provided the catalyst that allows us to perform an array of civil-structural-architectural (CSA) projects in addition to continue an offering of full-service mechanical-electrical-plumbing/piping (MEP) construction and service/maintenance work. With continuous active projects in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee we now have satellite offices in Columbus, Ohio and Knoxville, Tennessee that were opened in 2020 to support our growth and expansion in addition to our corporate offices based in Jackson, Ohio. As I enter the 9th inning of my career my focus will continue to be using my experience in contracting methods which includes Construction Management, Design-Assist, Design-Build, and Prime Contract delivery in both negotiated and fixed-firm lump sum environment to further Geiger Brothers' business operations. Being able to lead our acquisition efforts in these bid and proposal submissions allows me to create that needed work backlog for all of those skilled individuals that are indeed best-in-class and for them to be able to use their expertise to execute and put work in place for our clients. We will continue to identify complex, difficult, and mission critical work that match our competency in heavy MEP installations; commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and manufacturing/technology projects; and treatment plant facilities. Geiger Brothers converted to an ESOP company in 2023, and I will continue in the role of CEO and sit on the firm's Board of Directors. The opportunity to lead our company for the next few years and allow the next generation of leaders for Geiger Brothers be able to learn and grow in an employee-owned "people powered" environment is something I look forward to doing.
