Philip Vahey is a Founder and President at Applied Learning Insights, LLC based in San Francisco, California, United States, North America. My journey into the world of learning started unexpectedly.  As a software engineer at FileMaker Inc. (an Apple subsidiary), I discovered my passion wasn't just for technology itself, but for how it could empower learning. That realization led me to pursue a PhD in Learning Sciences at UC Berkeley. There, I explored how innovative technologies, designed with a learning sciences perspective, can dramatically enhance both what and how people learn. Since then, I've led innovation at SRI Education and HMH (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), designing effective and cutting-edge learning experiences with a focus on equity and accessibility for all learners. Now, as the Founder and President of Applied Learning Insights, I leverage my 20+ years of experience to help organizations like yours navigate the complexities of educational research, design, and technology integration.
