Lalith Suresh is a CEO & Co-Founder at Feldera, Inc. based in Palo Alto, California, United States, North America. I'm the CEO and a co-founder at Feldera. We help AI, ML and data teams ship real-time use cases in days instead of months. Our product can incrementally evaluate arbitrarily complex SQL queries over both live and historical data, with perfect offline-online consistency, handling millions of events per second even on a laptop. Previously, I was a Senior Researcher at VMware Research, where I led efforts to simplify cluster management for large-scale distributed systems. The Anvil and Sieve projects demonstrated how to build robust Kubernetes operators/controllers using formal verification and automated testing. These projects have discovered more than 40+ reliability bugs in popular open-source Kubernetes controllers. The DCM project showed how to build scalable and flexible cluster managers (like Kubernetes), using techniques like incremental view maintenance and constraint optimization. I also worked on other topics like failure detection, programmable networking, remote memory, scalable data systems, and low-latency measurement. During my PhD, I invented techniques to deliver predictable performance for distributed systems. C3 ships with ElasticSearch and OpenSearch (as the Adaptive Replica Selection feature), and influenced the design of Spotify’s ELS. Wisp is an end-to-end rate limiter for micro-services settings, which led to internal prototypes at VMware. More info about my research and publications can be found here: https://lalith.in/research/
