Jesse Welsh is a Chief Executive Officer at Nevada State High School based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, North America. Dr. Jesse Welsh currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Nevada State High School, a public early college charter school with nine campuses across the state of Nevada. He has been in K-12 education for over 28 years in a wide variety of roles. He is a graduate of Ithaca College, where he earned a B.A. in secondary mathematics education, and a graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he earned both his M.A. and D.Ed. in K-12 Educational Leadership. Additionally, he holds an Executive Certificate in Educational Leadership and Management from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University and was a participant in both the Harvard Institute for Superintendents and District Leaders and the Harvard Public Education Leadership Project. Prior to his current role, Dr. Welsh served as superintendent of the Paradise Valley Unified School District in Phoenix, Arizona. In the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada, he held a variety of school-based and central-based administrative roles including: Assistant Superintendent, Interim Assistant Superintendent, Academic Manager, Principal, Assistant Principal, Region Data Coordinator, and Dean of Students. He also served as a mathematics and Spanish instructor in both Naples, Maine and Las Vegas, Nevada. His areas of expertise include curriculum and professional development, online and digital learning, school finance, magnet programs, career and technical education, data analysis, assessment, accountability, research, and school improvement. Through effective strategy, planning, and implementation, and accountability, Dr. Welsh’s vision is to ensure that all parents and students have schools equipped with the resources, talent, and structures for academic success.
