Jason Norman is a CEO at KOOLADE based in San Francisco Bay Area, United States, North America. I am Jason Wesley Norman, a proud Black American from the vibrant inner-city of Rochester, New York. Raised in a loving and hardworking family, my mother served as a police officer for 20 years, and my father was a dedicated city bus driver until his untimely passing when I was 13. This pivotal moment in my life led my mom to make the brave decision to send me to live with my aunt, uncle, and their four children in Woodside, California. This challenging yet transformative move introduced me to the profound impact of access, exposure, opportunity, and information. I completed high school in San Jose, California, before heading to Harvard University, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies. During my time at Harvard, I had the honor of serving as a two-time captain of the Harvard Basketball Team, a feat not achieved in over a decade. My career has largely been dedicated to social impact in the nonprofit sector, with valuable experiences in two startups. In 2017, I co-founded Concrete Rose, with the goal of building a platform that symbolized Black people's resilience and ability to thrive despite systemic barriers. During my time at Concrete Rose, I helped scale the business from zero to $125M AUM, investing in 50+ companies. As a leader of the Concrete Rose Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Concrete Rose, I was committed to connecting with and empowering individuals and organizations who shared a genuine dedication to building a more equitable future for all. I led unrestricted grants of $500k into nearly 20 nonprofits, established a Social Innovator in Residence program, and convened a cohort of organizations to collectively address core disparities in the tech ecosystem. I am passionate about collaborating with Black founders and leaders, and I thrive on connecting with individuals who are genuinely dedicated to making a difference regardless of industry.
