Gordon has over 30 years experience working in the oil industry in the Rockies, Alaska, Canada, and Texas. In addition to Finnex LLC and Liberty Resources, he has worked with BP and ARCO in executive, management and petroleum engineering technology roles and early in his career with Touch Ross & Co. (now Deloitte) in financial evaluation roles. He holds a Masters of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas, a BBA in Accounting from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, and is a Registered Professional Petroleum Engineer in the State of Alaska and has been a Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada. Gordon is the author of a number of Society of Petroleum Engineering publications on well stimulation, enhanced oil recovery, and reservoir development and served on the editorial committee of the Journal of Petroleum Technology between 2000 and 2004. He was honored as Alaska Engineer of the Year in 1996 by Alaska engineering societies for distinguished technical, professional, and community service and contributions. Gordon is patent holder in enhanced oil recovery processes. Community activities include serving as Chair of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) PE Dept. Industry Advisory Board, and UAF College of Engineering and Mines Advisory Council. He was also founder and Sec-Treasurer of SPE Engineering Explorers, and a Board member of the Alaska Jazz Workshop.
