An industry spokesperson on asset building and financial capability, Dawn was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Jacksonville Branch Board of Directors in 2017 and led a coalition of partners to move 1000 families out of poverty in 1000 days and Wise Money Week, a campaign that annually delivered 25,000 hours of financial education. In 2010, she served as Chair of the Board of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, the nations largest network of credit/housing counseling agencies, where she led the 300 members to a new governance model. Dawn was awarded the 2009 NFCC Making the Difference Award for her leadership of a national debt management solution and the launching of a sector-wide technology solution to improve communications between credit counseling organizations and the financial services industry. She has successfully advocated before Congress for the passage of federal and state consumer protection and industry legislation and was appointed to the City of Jacksonville Mayor’s Foreclosure Task Force during the 2008 foreclosure crises. She received the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities National Partnership Award in 2014, the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ DollarWise Award in 2014, the NFCC Housing Client of the Year Award in 2013 and the NFCC Making a Difference Member Award and City of Jacksonville Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women Honoree in 2009. She has developed local non-profit organizations and consults with foundations, national associations and non-profit boards on product/program development, strategy and governance. As a Community Coach for the Non-Profit Center of Northeast Florida, Dawn volunteers her time to strengthen the sector in her hometown.
