For 20 years, I owned and operated iconic retail stores in San Francisco, New Mexico, and Seattle, pioneering “Retail Entertainment” with vibrant promotions that became safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. During 14 of those years, I stood on the front lines of the AIDS crisis—caring for friends, supporting staff, and mobilizing resources when the world often turned away. Seeing the isolation many gay men endured, I sold the stores and created one of the first online platforms for connection. That service eventually welcomed over 4 million users. By 1999, members were spending more than 5 million hours a month on the platform, attracting advertisers like American Airlines and IBM. The company went public in 2004. It was through that service that I met Al Farmer, the love of my life. For 30 years now, Al has been my husband, collaborator, and greatest source of strength. Everything I’ve built since, I’ve built with him—side by side. As co-founder of ROIgenius®, I helped design a SaaS engine that automates business operations, lead generation, budgeting, reporting, and customer satisfaction. To date, ROIgenius® has processed billions of dollars in sales across multiple industries—empowering teams to scale with confidence while staying focused on results that matter. Our work continued with Caregiving Network™, a platform that offered free access for eight years and evolved into a robust library of caregiver tools. We are now launching a new initiative that allows caregivers to form private groups of friends and family, with no tracking or advertising, and use advanced artificial intelligence to store memories securely to enjoy for all time. My life has been dedicated to advocacy—in moments both quiet and bold. Whether supporting caregivers, fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, or building platforms that empower others, I’ve always believed that giving back is what gives life meaning. When we pay it forward, we’re not just helping others—we’re building purpose, pride, and strength within ourselves. Even during adversity, we can create something lasting. ProPolicyAdvocates is born of that belief. Insurance policies are often long and hard for people to understand. Our AI summarizes coverage, pointing out how what is needed to reduce the risk of a denied claim and adds Consumer Advocacy Notes drawn from public records, dispute histories, and regulatory alerts—because reputation counts. Most importantly, someone is always available to answer the phone—at a time when policy language and premiums change every year—so no one has to face complexity alone.
